“We’re Going to Win. We Have No Other Choice.” 8 Words That Turned a Defiant UN Speech Into a Vision of Hope

New York: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a clear message of resolve. Amid walkouts and protests, he framed Israel’s struggles not as endless war, but as a determined fight for survival that is already reshaping the Middle East.
Drawing on his late brother Yoni’s words from the 1967 Six-Day War, Netanyahu repeated: “We’re going to win. We have no other choice.” After October 7, 2023, Israel faced a multi-front war against Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Iran, and their proxies. Instead of collapsing, he said, it struck back hard—dismantling arsenals, eliminating key leaders, and, with U.S. partnership, destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities. That decision, he called one of the easiest of his career: the alternative was unthinkable.
He rejected genocide accusations in Gaza as “the greatest lie of the century,” insisting Israel has taken extensive steps to protect civilians while defeating those who sought its destruction. His prediction for the region is bold: the Iranian regime is brittle and will fall. “One day, and it may not be far away, the Iranian people will be free,” he said. Their government will be toppled by its own corruption and cruelty.
Netanyahu’s core outlook is simple and unflinching. Resolve produces results. Terror networks are being degraded. Nuclear threats are being removed. A freer Middle East—where people overcome tyranny—is no longer distant. Israel, he insisted, will prevail because it must. And in doing so, it opens the door to something larger than survival: a changed region.
